A WALK TO TOWN:

Are you ready for a walk? It's only about 10 minutes to the church plaza from our Calle Durango location. This is the summer time so most of the foreigners have "high tailed it" up north to escape the summer heat. It's supposed to be over 100 degrees today so I'm leaving in a few minutes at 8:00 AM.

Ready?

Lets go!

This is the residence of Carroll Conner (Deceased) and his wife Nancy. Carroll, of course, played the roll of "Archie Bunker" in the series "All in the Family".

The home to the right is called the "Chocolate Palace" which is one of the many private homes with a story. Patricia Mars of the Mars Candy Bar Company married Mr. Fleming who bought the building in a nearly ruined state and rebuilt it in the 1960's. The home is set on five acres and has a kitchen that serves 100 guests. You can imagine how lavish their many parties were.

Well, did you enjoy the walk? Alamos truly has a beautiful residential district, doesn't it? You will also find the Mexican people who live here to be as beautiful as Alamos itself. This place is a magnificent oasis full of wonderful fragrances, smiles, and warmth. Alamos is vibrant. I suppose that is why people who visit Alamos either purchase property or make plans to purchase in the future. We did…within two weeks of our arrival.
