| This is the Master Bedroom | |

The two center doors go out onto the Portal and the interior door to the left goes into the Bathroom. There are two opening windows with screens, one to the left and one to the right of the two Portal doors. There are four pull down Mylar Blinds above the doors and windows in the Master Bedroom which are used in the summer months to keep the harsh sun off the furniture and carpet. |

This 13 foot reach-in closet is made of Colombian Cedar. There are fluorescent lights inside the closet which illuminate the clothes to assist you in your selection. There is an additional back-up closet in the Pantry area with another 19 feet of hanging space. |

This astrological calendar was painted by local artist Daan Hoekstra. This 13 foot dome encompasses the entire bedroom ceiling. There are 110 volt rope lamps hidden inside the ledge surrounding the dome. At night, with the lights on, the dome glows a brilliant gold. Notice the writing around the sun? It is a quote from Dr. Marilyn Sewell which says "Es la caricia del uno hacia el otro que nos permite alcanzar la plenitud mutuamente". It's also in English, "It is the touching of one with another that we become most fully ourselves".

There are three switches to the left and right of the bed. The closest switch turns on low voltage lamps that illuminate the floor of the bedroom and bathroom; the second switch turns on the lamps overhead in the dome; and the farthest switch turns on the wall lamps you see in this picture. |

The sinks are to the left, shower is forward, and the toilet room and bath tub is to the right. |

This is a Grohe shower valve. You can see it in the picture above to the right of the shower entrance. The two valves control both the flow of water as well as the temperature. The owner has used this fixture in other homes and likes the Art Deco design. Normally this is mounted in the shower but "This time", he said "I decided to mount it outside of the shower and use an on & off valve inside of the shower. Why? I just like looking at it!" |

|
This bathroom was plumbed in such a way that you can introduce hot water to the bath tub, bidet, & shower by first running water at one of the two vanity sinks until it is hot. The hot water pipe first goes to the bath tub, then to the bidet, then to the shower, and finally to the vanity sinks. When you have hot water at the vanity sinks you can be assured hot water is present at the other locations. The purpose of this should be obvious. Right, ladies? |

The above-counter sinks not only look in vogue, but they also provide uncompromised room below which was necessary for an undergarment dresser for two people.
|
![]() |
If you wish to wash your face above the sink, you would merely swing the spout in either direction out of your way. |
![]() |
A fan above the vanity provides a welcoming breeze during those warm summer days. |
![]() |
The dresser under the counter top generously serves two people. The under counter dresser provides you with storage of nearly 15 cubic feet in the center drawers. In addition, each person has three drawers for other items to the left and right of the center section. |
![]() |
To the left of the Vanity Counter there is a commercial wall mounted Sunbeam Hair Dryer. This unit has a digital time/date readout which is handy information when you are "running late" for dinner engagements. |
![]() |
This is the entry door to the Toilet/Bidet Room. The door was designed to be minimal and at the same time provide privacy inside. The door swings both directions. It's similar to a door in a Nordstroms dressing room. |

With the water flow and temperature of the water controlled outside, this "on and off" valve is all that is necessary inside of the shower. |

A Grohe shower head. |
| Bath tub | |
![]() |
This bath tub is located immediately to the right of the Toilet/Bidet Room. There are two low voltage lamps that illuminate both ends of the tub for night bathing. At nighttime you can raise the mini blinds, slide the windows to the side, enjoy the breeze and the view overlooking the city and the mountains in privacy. |

Portal outside of Master Bedroom looking to the north. |

This window is outside of the Master Bathroom. There is a fan overhead for warm summer evenings. There are two stereo speakers in the Portal just opposite the Master Bedroom. The stereo speakers are connected to the Home Theatre System inside of the Salon. You will also notice there is a wall telephone in this area as well as motion detector lights. The wall telephone here as well as the 2nd wall telephone in the front Portal has a disconnect switch inside of the house. You can turn the phones off when you are away for extended periods of time. The Portal motion detector lamps also can be turned off inside of the home for nighttime privacy. |

All of the exterior doors have Pemko Self-Adjusting Door Bottoms installed. When the door closes, a horizontal tubular rubber seal automatically lowers and presses against the tile floor. Then, when the door is opened, the rubber seal raises and is tucked away inside of the device. These were installed to keep out unwanted and certainly uninvited scorpions, centipedes and other unpleasant creatures that lurk in the night. |

There is a 5,000 gallon water storage tank under the west portal. This tank is supplied by city water which is pumped in daily. You do not have to lift the heavy lid to see how much water is in the tank. If you are curious, all you have to do is go to the Laundry Room and read the remote indicator on the wall. Click here if you want to look inside. We understand the storage tank has always been at least 80% full. |

This is looking to the east in the front portal. There are wall hooks installed which work for any size hammock. There is also an overhead hook for a mosquito net which is necessary for afternoon siestas during the summer monsoon season.

The stainless steel tubes you see are a part of a commercial Misting System which is installed in the front Portal as well as the Portal outside of the Master Bedroom Suite. This Misting System puts out a fine mist under 1,500 pounds pressure providing air conditioning outside. The motor and pump was installed in the Basement so you don't hear any noise in the Portals. The Misting System is turned on inside of the house. The Portal ceiling rafters were built in the typical manner for this area. They are formed, reinforced with steel "rebar", and poured in-place with cement. There is a problem in this area with termites and most of the older homes that have had wooden rafters have replaced them with this newer system. |
![]() |
As long as we are up here looking along the ceiling you might notice the way the front and side portal ceilings were interfaced together. The corner rafters are fanned. There are easier ways to do this but it goes along with everything else in this home. A great deal of thought and effort was given to every detail to make this home pleasing to the eye and extremely functional. This home is not merely a place to live, "it's a lifestyle". |
![]() |
There were low voltage floor lights installed at the base of the Portal posts. These low voltage floor accent lamps can be turned on and off inside in the Salon as well as in the Master Bedroom. |
![]() |
There are six speakers mounted at the ceiling throughout the Portals. These speakers have been placed to provide stereo music (2 channels) wherever you may be standing. These are connected to the entertainment system in the Salon. |
![]() |
In the front portal looking to the west. You might have noticed all of the wrought iron railing has been capped with Colombian Cedar to match the doors and windows. A nice touch. |
![]() |
This is the right Portal. The Kitchen is to the far right background. |

There is power wired to the right of the BBQ area to be used for BBQ rotisserie motors. |
